Tylenol PM Warning

My Mom has Lupus and has had trouble falling asleep at night for several years. She had tried a sleeping prescription from her Dr. She stopped using it because the prescription was requiring higher and higher doses to be effective as time went by. On top of the insomnia, she was in pain due various Lupus related immune problems. About 3 months ago she started taking 1 Tylenol PM before she went to bed. It did seem to help. So she kept it up. I don’t believe she discussed this with her Dr. Last week she went in to have blood work done. One of the test showed her liver enzymes were elevated. This is the step before liver damage occurs. Her Dr. said it was because of the Tylenol PM she was taking. My Mom was not aware this could happen so quickly. So if you take Tylenol PM, or know someone who does, it would be wisdom to tell your Dr. and have your liver enzymes checked out!

Menus 4 Moms

Today a friend told me about Menus 4 Moms. I was so impressed! It’s a website where you will find “free weekly dinner menus, grocery shopping list software, organizers and planners, home organization and kitchen articles, recipes, and more.” My friend has been using the weekly menus and says it has been a life saver for her. The meals can be adapted for even more health conscious families. Each Wednesday the main dish is a crockpot meal for those of you who attend evening services at church. Lisa simply printed off the shopping list for this week’s menu and she’s ready to go. Sounds great to me! It seems the hardest part about cooking is coming up with creative meals week after week and year after year! If you’re a meal weary mamma you should take a good look around at Menus 4 Moms. The meals are for a family of 6, or a family of 4 with leftovers. You can read below the menu for this week shared with permission.

The Berry Patch

If you read about the driving adventure of my Mom, sister, and I in reaching the blueberry farm, well I have news for you. We found it! We were trying to find The Berry Patch in Cleveland, MO. It was well worth trying to visit another evening. First of all, The Berry Patch is Missouri's largest blueberry farm with 10 miles of blueberry bushes. Secondly, The Berry Patch is located on a beautiful farm! I went with Caroline and Sean and their sons Mosiah and Israel a few evenings back. I was able to fill a 1/4 of a bucket off one bush! The Berry Patch has a Noah's Ark recreation area for the little tykes. They have a big hay bale maze, The Berry Train, sand and pea-gravel piles, and other fun things for the children to do.

As I was filling up my bucket I heard 3 little girls picking the next row over from me. One girl would find a bush loaded with berries and call excitedly for the other two, "You have got to come over here! This is the best bush ever!" Five minutes later they would find another "best" bush and rush over to there to pick. Their conversations were so cute! They were very serious about the task at hand.

Take a look at
The Berry Patch website to find the picking report, info on prices, driving directions, and more. They are open Tuesday thru Friday: 7 Am to 9 PM
Saturday 7 Am to 1 Pm. Closed Sundays and Mondays. They have a Country Store on the farm you'll want to stop in and look at. I believe they have several weeks of blueberry picking left. Have a great time!

Celebrating Women & Daughters Conference Report

The following is a report on the June 23-24 Chicago Women & Daughter's Conference. If you are interested in attending one of these conferences visit Blessing God's Way for further details on the October 20, 21 conference being held in Richmond, Virginia.

Hosts:
Blessing God's Way and Faith & Family Books

June 23-24 marked a celebration of the first annual
Celebrating Women & Daughters Conference at the facilities of Trinity
International University. Guest speakers included Peggy Franklin, RN, ND,
CPM and Doran Richards, Co-author of A Celebration of Pregnancy and Co-owner
of Blessing God's Way.

Some of the conference sessions taught were Celebrating Birth by Design,
Development of Maidenhood, Trusting Birth, and more! The goal of the
conference was to educate women how to celebrate God's unique design for the
woman and her body from the onset of menses right on through the
childbearing years into the years of menopause. Women of all ages attended
wanting to learn more about some topics that are so infrequently spoken
about.

The attendees were excited, refreshed and encouraged by the heart and
message of Peggy Franklin and Doran Richards. Neither the culture nor
church today rejoices in how the Lord designed and created the female body
to function. There is an air of fear and disdain surrounding it and this
should not be. This conference aimed to reclaim God\s design bringing Him
back to the center of womanhood and it succeeded! The conference attendees
left desiring to share the message with others. The church, as a whole,
needs to view all issues encircling womanhood a blessing not a curse!
